The branch chairman, Prof. Idou Keinde, and the secretary, Prof. Adesina Arikawe, confirmed that the strike would commence on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>According to the union, the industrial action became necessary following the payment of what they described as \u201camputated salaries\u201d to lecturers for the months of January and February. The lecturers claimed that members across the university\u2019s two campuses \u2014 Akoka and Idi-Araba \u2014 received incomplete salary payments during the period.<br>ASUU noted that the situation is unacceptable and contrary to what is currently obtainable in other federal universities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>As a result, the union has directed all its members to withdraw their services and stay away from their duty posts until their full salaries for the affected months are paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>When contacted for a reaction, the university\u2019s spokesperson, Mrs Adejoke Alaga-Ibrahim, requested that inquiries be sent via text message as she was in a meeting at the time.
