Lagos State University (LASU) has commenced the application process for its Sandwich Degree Programmes for the 2025 academic year. This is a call to all prospective students seeking to pursue a degree while managing other life commitments. The programmes are available at both the Ojo and Epe campuses.
The application window will remain open for twelve (12) weeks from the date of this publication.
Available Programmes
The university’s Faculty of Education is offering four and five-year Sandwich Degree Programmes in a wide array of disciplines, including:
B.Sc. Education: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science Education, Educational Technology, Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education, Business Education, Educational Management, Economics, Political Science, and Geography.
B.A. Education: History, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, French, English, Yoruba, and Arabic.
B.Ed. Education: Early Childhood and Primary Education, Guidance and Counselling Education, and Special Education.
Requirements for Admission
Applicants must meet a set of general and specific requirements to be considered for admission. All candidates are required to have a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics.
General Requirements:
Five (5) O’Level credits or NABTEB passes in relevant subjects, obtained in no more than two (2) sittings.
Two (2) relevant subjects at ‘A’ Level or an NCE Merit Pass in related fields.
A University or Polytechnic two-year Diploma Certificate with at least a Merit (Lower Credit) grade.
Specific Requirements:
English Major: Credits in Literature in English and English Language.
Economics Major: Credits in English Language, Mathematics, and Economics.
Health Education: In addition to English Language and Mathematics, credits from Agricultural Science, Biology, or Health Science are required. Holders of Staff Registered Nurse and Midwifery Certificates and other relevant diplomas are also eligible.
Political Science Major: A credit pass in English Language, Mathematics, and Government.
Mathematics and Science Major: Credits in Mathematics, English Language, and Physics are mandatory.
Programme Duration and Application Process
The four-year programme is tailored for candidates with an NCE/ND Merit (Lower Credit) grade or higher, while the five-year programme is for those with WASC/SSCE/NABTEB certificates or an NCE who don’t meet the four-year programme’s entry requirements.
To apply, candidates must visit the official LASU website, www.lasu.edu.ng, and pay a non-refundable application fee of Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000.00). After completing the online application, a copy of the form and relevant O’Level scratch cards must be submitted to the Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme on either of the university’s campuses.

Entrance Examination
A compulsory entrance examination and interview are scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the 3-in-1 Lecture Theatre (Hall 1 and 2) by 9:00 am. Candidates are expected to come with their writing materials, as well as the original and photocopies of all their credentials.
