LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION (LASUED) BEGINS 2026/2027 INDIGENESHIP VERIFICATION EXERCISE FOR LAGOS STATE INDIGENES

The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has officially announced the commencement of the 2026/2027 Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise (LIIVC) for candidates who are indigenes of Lagos State.

The exercise is for candidates who selected LASUED as their first choice institution in the 2026 UTME and scored a minimum of 185.

Registration for the exercise will commence on Monday, 18th May 2026 and close on Sunday, 14th June 2026.

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates eligible for the exercise include:

• Candidates of Lagos State origin
• Candidates who chose LASUED as first choice institution
• Candidates who scored 185 and above in the 2026 UTME
• Direct Entry candidates who are indigenes of Lagos State

Old applicants from the 2025/2026 admission session who were not offered admission are also expected to revalidate their Indigeneship Clearance Certificates.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

LASUED emphasized that participation in the verification exercise does NOT guarantee admission into the university.

All candidates must be cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (LIIVC) before they can be considered for admission.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Candidates are expected to come along with:

1. Indigeneship Form
2. Payment Receipt
3. Candidate’s Birth Certificate (Original & Photocopy)
4. Father’s Birth Certificate (Original & Photocopy)
5. Letter from Oba
6. Letter from Chairman of Local Government Area
7. Landed Property Documents

⚠️ Only Letter from Oba will be accepted.

SCREENING SCHEDULE

The verification interview will hold from Monday, 1st June 2026 to Thursday, 25th June 2026.

Candidates are required to complete their registration through the official LASUED portal.

Applicants are strongly advised to avoid making payments to individuals or unauthorized agents.
