The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the 2026 UTME to Direct Entry (DE) Conversion Service, giving qualified candidates the opportunity to update their admission pathway based on newly acquired academic qualifications.
The service is designed for candidates who registered for the 2026 UTME but have since obtained qualifications that make them eligible for Direct Entry admission. JAMB has also enabled Direct Entry candidates to process a Change of Institution where necessary.
WHO CAN CONVERT FROM UTME TO DIRECT ENTRY?
The conversion service is available to candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME and have now obtained any of the following recognised qualifications:
✅ National Diploma (ND)
✅ Higher National Diploma (HND)
✅ Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)
✅ IJMB
✅ JUPEB
✅ First Degree
✅ Other approved Direct Entry qualifications
After a successful conversion, eligible candidates can apply for admission through Direct Entry into 200 Level, provided they satisfy the admission requirements of their preferred institution and course.
DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES CAN ALSO CHANGE INSTITUTION
JAMB has equally opened the portal for Direct Entry candidates who wish to change their institution of choice.
This gives candidates the flexibility to select another university, polytechnic, college of education, or other approved tertiary institution if they wish to pursue admission elsewhere.
Candidates are advised to confirm the admission requirements of their preferred institution before making any changes.
WHERE TO PROCESS THE CONVERSION
Candidates are required to visit the nearest JAMB Office to complete the conversion or Change of Institution process.
When visiting the office, ensure you go with all the necessary documents and provide accurate information to avoid unnecessary delays.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE
Before processing your application:
✅ Confirm that your Direct Entry qualification is acceptable for your intended course.
✅ Verify the admission requirements of your preferred institution.
✅ Ensure all your academic records are correct and up to date.
✅ Carry out all transactions only through official JAMB offices.
Candidates are strongly advised to avoid unauthorized agents or unofficial platforms claiming to process the conversion, as this may affect their admission.
