Tertiary institutions across Nigeria have officially submitted their approved cut-off marks for the 2026 admission exercise to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
This follows the conclusion of the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting, where major admission guidelines, benchmarks, and policies for universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions were reviewed and finalized.
With the submission now completed, institutions are expected to begin their admission screening and selection processes in line with the approved cut-off marks for the 2026 academic session.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CANDIDATES
The approved cut-off marks will determine the minimum scores candidates must meet before being considered for admission into their preferred institutions and programmes.
Candidates are therefore advised to:
- Check the approved cut-off mark for their institution of choice
- Monitor official school announcements regularly
- Prepare for Post-UTME or screening exercises
- Ensure all admission requirements are properly met
Institutions are also expected to release further details regarding departmental cut-off marks, screening dates, and admission procedures in the coming weeks.

Meeting the minimum cut-off mark does not automatically guarantee admission, as institutions may also consider:
- O’Level results
- Post-UTME performance
- Catchment and merit requirements
- Course competitiveness
