The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) is Nigeria’s first university of education, established through the transformation of two colleges of education: Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Oto-Ijanikin, and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Epe.
In line with the vision of the Lagos State Government to advance teacher education and improve access to quality tertiary education, LASUED now offers 67 approved take-off undergraduate programmes across multiple faculties.
Important Notice:
The former institutions—AOCOED and MOCPED—will no longer accept new students into their 100 and 200 Level programs. All new admissions must go through LASUED.

Admission Requirements into LASUED
UTME (100-Level) Admission Requirements:
Prospective candidates seeking admission into LASUED for the 100-Level undergraduate programmes must:
- Possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), including English Language, in not more than two sittings.
- Attain the official UTME cut-off mark prescribed by LASUED.
- Participate in and pass the LASUED Post-UTME screening.
Note: Direct Entry (DE) admissions commenced in the 2023/2024 academic session and are available for candidates with relevant NCE, ND, or equivalent qualifications.
Understanding LASUED’s IIVE (Lagos Indigeneship Verification Exercise)
The Lagos Indigeneship Verification Exercise, commonly referred to as IIVE, is an essential part of the admission process for candidates claiming Lagos State origin.
Purpose of the IIVE Exercise:
- To verify and authenticate claims of Lagos State indigene status by applicants.
- To ensure that genuine indigenes of Lagos State receive appropriate admission consideration and prioritization.
Without undergoing the IIVE process, a candidate will be treated as a non-indigene, regardless of any personal or familial claims to Lagos origin.
Required Documents for LASUED IIVE Registration
Applicants participating in the IIVE process must present the following documents:
- IIVE Manual Form
- LASUED Payment Receipt for IIVE
- Completed Online Data Form
- Original JAMB Result Slip
- O’Level Result (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB)
- Two Recent Passport Photographs
- Applicant’s Birth Certificate
- Father’s Birth Certificate
- Letter from the Oba (not Baale) of the applicant’s town of origin
- Letter from the Chairman of the applicant’s Local Government Area of origin
