The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 State of Origin Verification Exercise (SOVE) for candidates who are indigenes of Lagos State.
According to the institution, all Lagos State indigene candidates who selected LASUSTECH as their first choice institution in the 2026 UTME and scored a minimum of 195 are eligible to participate in the exercise. Direct Entry (DE) candidates are also eligible.
The university explained that the verification exercise is compulsory for all Lagos State indigene candidates before they can proceed with the Post-UTME screening registration.
SOVE REGISTRATION DATE
🗓️ Registration begins on:
Wednesday, 20th May, 2026
🗓️ Registration closes on:
Friday, 12th June, 2026
VERIFICATION INTERVIEW SCHEDULE
The physical verification interview will hold between:
📅 Wednesday, 17th June, 2026
and
📅 Friday, 19th June, 2026
Candidates are advised to note that their specific interview dates will be indicated on their application forms after successful registration.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the LASUSTECH SOVE exercise, candidates must: • Be an indigene of Lagos State
• Choose LASUSTECH as first choice institution
• Score at least 195 in the 2026 UTME
• Successfully complete the verification exercise
The institution also emphasized that only candidates cleared by the State of Origin Verification Committee (SOVC) will be allowed to proceed with the Post-UTME screening process.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
LASUSTECH clarified that participation in the State of Origin Verification Exercise does not automatically guarantee admission into the university.
Candidates and parents are strongly advised to avoid unauthorized payments or dealing with unofficial agents, as the institution will not be responsible for any loss resulting from such transactions.
