After JAMB results come out, LASUED opens a screening registration window. You register, sit a screening exercise, and LASUED reviews your application based on your aggregate and your O’Level subject combination.
The subject combination requirement is where most applicants go wrong. Each education programme at LASUED requires specific O’Level subjects. If your combination does not match, your application does not move forward regardless of your JAMB score or screening performance. Many students discover this only after the window to apply elsewhere has already closed.

JAMB Cut-Off Mark
LASUED’s minimum is 170. The number that trips most applicants up is not the cut-off score but the O’Level requirement. If your subject combination does not match what the specific education programme needs, your application does not move forward regardless of your JAMB score.

Why Students Miss LASUED Admission
You apply to a LASUED education programme without confirming that your O’Level combination includes the specific subjects the course requires. This disqualifies your application silently and by the time you find out it is too late to apply elsewhere.
You treat LASUED as a low-effort option and do not prepare for the screening. The institution expects students who want to be there and the screening reflects that.
You assume that because LASUED is an education university the process is informal. It follows the same JAMB and accreditation guidelines as every other recognised institution.
ND or HND Holders Can Enter LASUED at 200 Level Without Writing JAMB Again
Many people who have finished a National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) at a polytechnic do not know this: you do not have to write JAMB again to enter LASUED. There is a route called Direct Entry that lets you apply straight into 200 Level. It has its own application form, its own deadline, and its own requirements, and it runs separately from the regular JAMB process.
Every year, ND and HND holders sit at home waiting to rewrite JAMB because nobody told them they could skip it entirely. If you have an ND or HND and want to continue your education at LASUED, talk to us and we will tell you if you qualify for this route.
