Your O’Level Subjects Matter More at LAUTECH Than Most Students Realize
After JAMB results come out, LAUTECH opens a screening registration window. You register online and submit your O’Level results through the portal. LAUTECH reviews your application based on your JAMB score and your O’Level credentials.
But the bigger problem at LAUTECH is the O’Level subject combination. Engineering and computing courses have specific science subject requirements at O’Level. If your combination does not match, your application is disqualified before your score is even considered. Many students discover this only after they have paid for the form and it is too late to fix.

JAMB Cut-Off Mark
Engineering and computing courses typically require 220 and above. LAUTECH does not run a written Post-UTME exam. It screens your application based on your JAMB score and your O’Level results. The most common reason students are rejected is having the wrong O’Level subject combination for their chosen course.

Why Students Miss LAUTECH Admission
You apply for an engineering or computing course without confirming that your O’Level combination includes the specific science subjects the faculty requires. This disqualifies your application before your score is even considered.
You do not register for screening on time or you do not upload the correct documents through the portal. The screening window closes and your application does not move forward.
You assume LAUTECH is an easy option because it is a state university. LAUTECH still rejects students whose documents are incomplete or whose O’Level subjects do not match.
ND or HND Holders Can Enter LAUTECH at 200 Level Without Writing JAMB Again
Many people who have finished a National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) at a polytechnic do not know this: you do not have to write JAMB again to enter LAUTECH. There is a route called Direct Entry that lets you apply straight into 200 Level. It has its own application form, its own deadline, and its own requirements, and it runs separately from the regular JAMB process.
