UNILORIN does not look at your JAMB score by itself. It combines your JAMB score, your Post-UTME score, and your O’Level grades into one aggregate. If that aggregate is too low, you will not get in, even if your JAMB score was high. We help students prepare for all three so the aggregate is strong enough.

UNILORIN Calculates an Aggregate Using Three Different Scores. Your JAMB Score Is Only One of Them.
After your JAMB result comes out, UNILORIN opens a Post-UTME registration window. You register, sit a CBT exam, and then UNILORIN uses a formula to combine your JAMB score (50%), your Post-UTME score (30%), and your O’Level grades (20%) into an aggregate. That aggregate is what determines whether you gain admission, not your JAMB score alone.
Many students with strong JAMB scores do not gain admission at UNILORIN because they treated the Post-UTME as a formality, performed poorly, and their aggregate fell below the departmental cut-off. Your JAMB score could be 280, but if your Post-UTME pulls your aggregate down, it will not matter.
The other common way students lose their UNILORIN admission is not uploading their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS before the deadline. UNILORIN checks this. If your results are missing, your application is removed from consideration regardless of your scores.

JAMB Cut-Off Mark
What determines your admission at UNILORIN is the aggregate score calculated using this formula: JAMB score counts for 50%, Post-UTME score counts for 30%, and O’Level grades count for 20%. A strong JAMB score with a weak Post-UTME will pull your aggregate below the threshold.

Post-UTME at UNILORIN
UNILORIN uses a Computer-Based Post-UTME that covers English Language and subjects related to the course you applied for. Because your Post-UTME score makes up 30% of the aggregate that determines your admission, going into the exam without serious preparation is one of the most common reasons students with strong JAMB scores do not gain admission at UNILORIN. The exam is not a formality. It changes your final number.

Why Students Miss UNILORIN Admission
You base your admission chances on your JAMB score alone. You do not know that UNILORIN uses an aggregate that includes your Post-UTME score and O’Level grades. You perform poorly in Post-UTME, your aggregate drops, and you do not gain admission.
You apply for Medicine or Law at UNILORIN thinking that scoring above 180 is enough. Medicine requires 250 and above in JAMB before they consider you, and your Post-UTME and O’Level still have to be strong on top of that.
You do not upload your O’Level results to JAMB CAPS before the deadline. UNILORIN checks this. If your results are missing, your application is removed from consideration.
Missed Your Course at UNILORIN? You May Still Get a Related One That Same Year
Sometimes your JAMB and Post-UTME scores are strong enough for UNILORIN, but not strong enough for the specific course you chose. When this happens, most students think their only option is to go home and try again next year.
But some faculties at UNILORIN allow you to ask for a different course within the same faculty, one where the cut-off is lower and there are still spaces available. If this is done correctly and at the right time, you can start school that same year studying a course that is still related to what you originally wanted.
