UNN’s Post-UTME is held on campus in Nsukka. You have to be there in person. Students from Lagos, Port Harcourt, and other parts of the country miss this exam every year because they did not book travel early enough. We make sure that does not happen.

Before You Can Sit the Post-UTME at UNN, You Have to Get Yourself to Nsukka. That Alone Stops Some Students.
After JAMB results come out, UNN opens a Post-UTME registration window. You register, then you must travel to the UNN campus in Nsukka to sit the CBT exam in person. If you are based in Lagos, Port Harcourt, or anywhere outside Enugu State, this means booking travel and accommodation in advance. Students who leave this until the week before the exam regularly miss it. That is not a recoverable mistake. You cannot sit UNN’s Post-UTME from another location.
Beyond the logistics, students who rely on their JAMB score alone without preparing for Post-UTME consistently fall below competitive departmental thresholds. UNN uses an aggregate system and for courses like Medicine or Engineering, the difference between getting in and missing out often comes down to a few aggregate points.
UNN also releases admission in multiple batches, and students who stop checking after the first batch miss their own notification.

UNN’s school minimum is 180. Faculties like Medicine, Law, and Engineering set their own departmental cut-offs significantly above that. Medicine at UNN is among the most competitive in the south-east.

UNN conducts a CBT-based Post-UTME covering English Language and subjects related to your applied course. The Post-UTME result feeds into the aggregate calculation. For highly competitive courses at UNN, the difference between getting in and missing out often comes down to a few aggregate points. The exam requires physical presence on the UNN campus in Nsukka.

Why Students Miss UNN Admission
You do not plan your travel to Nsukka early enough. You miss the Post-UTME. That is a full year gone for a reason that had nothing to do with your ability or your score.

Some UNN Faculties Still Admit Students After the Main Admission List Closes
When UNN’s main admission list closes, most students who did not see their name assume that everything is finished for the year. But some faculties at UNN can still take in more students after the main list, through their own separate process.
This does not appear on the same portal where the main admission list was published, so you would not find it unless you knew where to look. Each faculty handles this differently and the timing changes from year to year.
The students who still get into UNN after the main list are the ones who had someone monitoring these faculty-level openings for them. We do this for every student we work with.
