Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, has recorded a major academic milestone as the National Universities Commission (NUC) grants full accreditation to three additional programmes in the institution.
The approval was conveyed in an official letter dated April 7, 2026, and signed by the Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.
ACCREDITED PROGRAMMES
Following the accreditation exercise conducted in October/November 2025 to assess available human and material resources, the following programmes have now been granted full accreditation:
- Nursing Science
- Adult Education
- Education English Language
The accreditation is valid for a period of five (5) years, after which the programmes will be due for reaccreditation.

This achievement reflects EKSU’s strong commitment to maintaining academic standards, expanding programme offerings, and aligning with national educational requirements.
With this latest development, the number of fully accredited programmes in the university has increased from 76 to 79, bringing the institution to a 100% full accreditation status.
REACTIONS FROM THE UNIVERSITY
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, expressed appreciation to the National Universities Commission for the approval, describing it as a significant step toward achieving the university’s vision of academic excellence and innovation.
He also acknowledged the support of the Ekiti State Governor and Visitor to the University, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, alongside the Governing Council and the University Senate for their contributions to this success.
