The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, signifying the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government, as he extended warm greetings and congratulations to Muslim faithful for the successful completion of Ramadan.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also urged Muslims to continue upholding the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice, which are central to the teachings and practices observed during the holy month.
He further encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for unity, peace, and progress in the country.
