How to Upload Your O'Level Result to JAMB
After your JAMB result comes out, one of the first things to do is upload your O'Level result to JAMB CAPS. Schools cannot process your application without it. This guide explains exactly what you need and how to do it.
Uploading your O'Level result is not optional. It is one of the steps schools use to confirm that you actually have the subjects and grades required for your course. If it is not uploaded, your school cannot see it and your application cannot move forward.
What You Need Before You Start
- Your JAMB registration number. This is on your JAMB exam slip and your result slip.
- Your O'Level result.
- Access to an accredited JAMB CBT centre. JAMB now requires thumbprint verification for O'Level uploads, so this cannot be done from home. You must go to a CBT centre in person.

JAMB now requires thumbprint verification for O'Level uploads. This means you cannot do it from home. You must go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre in person.
The centre officer handles the upload on their end after verifying your identity. The process takes a few minutes.
Do not wait until you are about to sit Post-UTME or screening before doing this. Go as soon as your result is out. CBT centres get busy when deadlines are close.
After You Upload, Check That Everything Is Correct
Before you leave the CBT centre, ask the officer to show you the uploaded result on screen and check these things:
- All your subjects are listed. Nothing is missing.
- Your grades are exactly what is on your physical result slip.
- The examination body and year are correct.
If anything looks wrong, for example a subject is missing or a grade is showing incorrectly, tell the officer immediately before you leave. Do not leave and hope for the best. Schools check these details during screening and you will not be able to fix it on the spot when you get there.
What If You Are Still Awaiting Your O'Level Result?
If your O'Level result is not yet out, you cannot upload it yet. Once WAEC or NECO releases your result, go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre to complete the upload.
Do not wait until you are about to sit Post-UTME or screening before doing this. Schools check CAPS, not your physical result slip, when processing applications. If it is not uploaded, your application cannot move forward.
You Have Uploaded. Two Steps Left Before You Are Admitted.
Uploading your O'Level result puts you at step 7 out of 9. The steps that remain are the ones most students struggle with.
Step 8 is buying your school form and sitting your school's screening or Post-UTME. Every school has its own form, its own deadline, and its own process. Some schools close their form portal in less than two weeks. If you miss it, you wait a full year.
Step 9 is getting admitted. Checking the admission list, paying your acceptance fee on time, gathering every document your school needs for clearance, and completing the clearance process itself.
These last two steps are where most students lose their admission, not because they failed, but because they missed something they did not know was coming.
